In today’s interconnected world, it’s easy to link several platforms to streamline your social media usage. One common combination is connecting Facebook to Instagram. However, there may come a time when you need to disconnect these two. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
Disconnecting on Instagram
1. Open your Instagram app and go to your profile. To do this, tap the small icon that looks like a person at the bottom right of your screen.
2. Once you’re on your profile, tap the three horizontal lines at the top right. This will open a side menu.
3. In this side menu, tap on the cogwheel icon that says Settings.
4. Scroll down until you find Account and tap on it.
5. Now, find Linked Accounts in the menu and tap on it.
6. You’ll see a list of all the social media accounts linked to your Instagram. Find Facebook and tap on it.
7. Tap on Unlink. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm if you want to unlink Facebook. Tap on Yes, I’m sure.
Congratulations! You’ve just disconnected your Facebook account from Instagram.
Disconnecting on Facebook
If you want to ensure that Facebook is disconnected from Instagram, you can do this from Facebook’s settings too. Here’s how:
1. Open Facebook and click on the downward arrow at the top right of your screen.
2. In the dropdown menu, click on Settings.
3. In the settings menu, find and click on Apps and Websites.
4. You’ll see a list of all the apps and websites connected to your Facebook account. Find Instagram and click on it.
5. Click on Remove App at the bottom of the pop-up screen.
6. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm if you want to remove Instagram. Click on Remove.
There you have it! You’ve just disconnected Facebook from Instagram.
Remember, disconnecting Facebook from Instagram doesn’t mean you can’t connect them again in the future. If you ever want to reconnect the two, just follow these steps in reverse.
