Adobe After Effects is a powerful tool for animation and visual effects. Whether you’re creating a short film,
an advertisement, or just experimenting with some new ideas, After Effects is a great tool to use. But, like any
tool, it’s only as good as your ability to use it. In this post, we’ll look at one of the most important
aspects of using After Effects: how to export your projects.
Step 1: Open the Composition You Want to Export
The first step to exporting your After Effects composition is to open the composition you want to export.
You can do this by going to the “Project” panel (usually in the bottom-left of the After Effects interface),
finding the composition you want to export, and double-clicking on it.
Step 2: Go to the ‘Composition’ Menu and Select ‘Add to Render Queue’
With your composition open, go to the “Composition” menu at the top of the After Effects interface,
and select “Add to Render Queue”. This will add your composition to the render queue, which is where
After Effects processes your compositions for export.
Step 3: Set Your Render Settings
Once your composition is in the render queue, you’ll need to specify your render settings.
In the “Render Settings” panel, you’ll see several options. For most projects,
Best Settings should be fine. If you need to change any settings,
just click on the blue text next to “Render Settings” to open the settings panel.
Step 4: Set Your Output Settings
Next, you’ll need to set your output settings. In the “Output Module” section of the render queue,
click on the blue text next to “Output Module” to open the output settings panel.
Step 5: Export Your Composition
Finally, with your render and output settings specified, you’re ready to export your composition.
Click on the “Render” button at the top right of the render queue to start the render process.
Once the render is complete, your exported video will be saved to the location you specified in your output settings.
1. Open the composition you want to export 2. Go to the Composition menu > Add to Render Queue 3. Set your render settings (usually Best Settings) 4. Set your output settings 5. Click Render to start the export process
And that’s it! You’ve successfully exported your Adobe After Effects project. While it might seem like a lot of steps,
once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Keep experimenting and creating, and don’t forget to have fun!
