Due to the sudden increase in remote work and virtual meetings, we have all had to adjust to different methods of communication. Two widely used platforms for this are Google Meet and Facebook. Ever thought about streaming live on Facebook through Google Meet? Well, you’re in for a treat! In this blog post, we will walk you through the process of live streaming on Facebook using Google Meet.
Step 1: Set Up Your Google Meet
The first step is setting up your Google Meet. Go to Google Meet and start a new meeting. You can invite participants as per your requirement. Once your meeting is running, you’re ready for the next step.
Step 2: Use Screen Sharing Software
To broadcast your Google Meet on Facebook, you’ll need a screen sharing software. A popular choice is OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). Download and install it from here.
Step 3: Configure OBS
Once OBS is installed, you need to set it up for capturing your Google Meet. Follow these steps:
- Open OBS and click on + under ‘Sources’.
- Select Window Capture.
- Choose your Google Meet window from the drop-down list.
The OBS window should now display your Google Meet.
Step 4: Set Up Facebook Live
Now, go to Facebook and click on Live Video under Create Post.
Step 5: Connect OBS to Facebook Live
You need to link your OBS to Facebook Live. Here’s how:
- From Facebook Live’s interface, copy the Stream Key.
- Open OBS, go to Settings -> Stream.
- Choose Facebook Live as the service, then paste your stream key in the ‘Stream Key’ field.
Step 6: Start Streaming
Now, all you need to do is go back to OBS and click Start Streaming. Your Google Meet is now live on Facebook!
This is a great way to reach larger audiences for webinars, workshops, or any event that can be conducted over Google Meet. Happy streaming!
