Google Sheets is an incredibly versatile tool that allows you to create, edit, and collaborate on spreadsheets directly from your web browser. But did you also know that you can customize your spreadsheets to make them more visually appealing? One of the ways you can do this is by bolding the borders of your cells, rows, or columns. Here’s how it’s done:
Step 1: Select the Cell(s)
The first step in bolding borders in Google Sheets is to select the cell, row, or column that you want to modify. You can do this by clicking on the cell or by clicking and dragging your mouse to select multiple cells.
Step 2: Open the Borders Menu
Once you’ve selected the cells, you need to go to the borders menu. This is found in the toolbar at the top of the Google Sheets page. You can find the icon which looks like a square divided into four smaller squares. Click on this icon to open the borders menu.
Step 3: Choose Border Style
When the borders menu appears, you will see an option for border style. Click on this, and a drop-down menu will appear. From this menu, select the thick border style option.
Step 4: Apply the Border
The final step is to apply the border to your selected cells. To do this, click on the ‘Apply Border’ option in the borders menu. Your selected cells should now have bold borders!
So, it is as simple as:
1. Select the Cell(s) 2. Open the Borders Menu 3. Choose Border Style 4. Apply the Border
By using the steps above, you can make the borders of your cells, rows, or columns bold. This can be particularly useful if you want to highlight certain data in your spreadsheet or if you want to make your spreadsheet more readable. So, why not give it a try?
