Method 1: Using Image Options

Google Slides doesn’t directly offer the option of making a background transparent. However, if you’re working with an image, you can use the ‘Image Options’ feature to adjust its transparency. Here’s how you can do it:

  2. After selecting and placing your image, click on it to select it. You’ll notice a toolbar appearing on top.

Note: This method only works for images. It doesn’t make the slide’s background transparent.

If you need to make the slide’s background itself transparent, you’ll need to use a third-party tool to create a transparent image and then set that as your slide’s background. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to any free online tool that allows you to create transparent images. An example of such a tool is LunaPic.
  2. Create a transparent image and download it. The size of the image should ideally match the dimensions of your Google Slide.
  3. Now, go back to Google Slides and click on Background > Choose Image.
  4. Upload the transparent image you just downloaded and set it as the slide’s background.

And there you have it! Now you have a slide with a transparent background. Please note that Google Slides doesn’t support transparent backgrounds when exported as PDF or other formats. So, the transparency might not appear in the downloaded or printed versions of the presentation.

As you can see, making a background transparent in Google Slides requires a bit of a workaround. Hopefully, Google will add this feature in the future. Until then, you can use the methods mentioned above to achieve the desired results.
