With the pivot to digital learning, Google Slides has become an integral part of education. Its versatile features allow educators to create interactive presentations, quizzes, and even a virtual classroom. Today, we will guide you on how to create your very own virtual classroom using Google Slides.
Getting Started
To start with, you will need a Google Account. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for free here.
Creating a new Google Slide
Once you are logged into your account, navigate to Google Drive and click on New > Google Slides to create a new slide.
Designing your Classroom
Google Slides allows you to customize your slides. You can add images, text, shapes, and even links to make your classroom interactive.
Adding Background
To add a background to your slide, click on Background located at the top of your screen. A dialog box will appear with different options. You can choose a color or upload an image from your computer as your background.
Adding Furniture and Decorations
You can add images of furniture and other classroom decorations to make your classroom realistic and engaging. Click on the Image option in the toolbar and select Search the web. A sidebar will appear where you can search for images. Once you find the image you want, click on it and press the Insert button.
Adding Interactive Elements
One of the best features of Google Slides is the ability to add hyperlinks to your images and text. This means you can link websites, videos, and other resources right in your virtual classroom. To do this, select the text or image you want to link, click on the Insert link button in the toolbar or right-click and select Link. Then paste the URL of the resource you want to link to.
Sharing your Virtual Classroom
Once you are satisfied with your virtual classroom, you can share it with your students. Click on the Share button at the top of your screen. You can either share the link directly or send an email invitation.
