Google Slides is a helpful tool for creating dynamic presentations, but did you know you can also use it to create an interactive calendar? In this guide, we will walk you through the steps you need to follow to make your interactive calendar using Google Slides.
Step 1: Open Google Slides
First things first, go to Google Slides on your web browser. You can simply search for Google Slides on your Google search bar or you can directly type in the URL: https://slides.google.com in your web browser.
Step 2: Start a New Presentation
Click on the + (plus) button to start a new presentation.
Step 3: Choose a Blank Layout
Once you’ve opened a new presentation, you’ll want to choose a blank layout. This will make it easier to start designing your calendar from scratch.
Step 4: Design the Calendar
Now, this is where the fun begins. You can design the calendar as you please. Use the shape tool to create cells representing each day of the month. You can add the date to each cell using a text box. Make sure to include navigation buttons to switch between months.
Step 5: Create Hyperlinks
This is what makes your calendar interactive. You can hyperlink each day to a specific slide that includes details for that day. To add a hyperlink, select the cell and click on Insert > Link.
Step 6: Insert a Slide for Each Day
To make your calendar fully functional, you’ll want to insert a new slide for each day of the month. You can do this by clicking on New Slide in the toolbar. Each slide can contain details for events, reminders, or any other information you’d like to include for that day.
Step 7: Link Each Day to the Corresponding Slide
Now that you have a slide for each day, go back to your calendar and link each cell (day) to the corresponding slide. Remember to do this, select the cell, click on Insert > Link, and then select the specific slide for that day.
Step 8: Test Your Interactive Calendar
Once you’ve set up all the links, it’s time to test your interactive calendar. Go to View > Present to see your calendar in action. Click on any day to see the information for that day.
And there you have it! You now know how to create an interactive calendar in Google Slides. Happy planning!
