If you use Canva, you probably know that one of its key features is the option to delete the background from images. However, there may be times when the automatic background removal is not flawless, and you may need to do it manually. This blog post will walk you through the steps of manually removing a background from an image on Canva.
Step 1: Upload Your Image
Navigate to the Canva homepage and create a new design. Then, click on the ‘Uploads’ button and select the image whose background you want to remove.
Step 2: Select Image and Open Effects Tab
Click on the uploaded image to add it to your canvas. Once it’s on the canvas, click on it to select it. A menu will appear at the top of the screen. Click on the ‘Effects’ tab.
Step 3: Remove Background
Under the Effects tab, click on ‘Background Remover’. Canva will then attempt to automatically remove the background from your image. But as mentioned, sometimes it might not be perfect. This is where manual removal comes in.
Step 4: Manual Background Removal
After the automatic background removal process, some parts of the background may still be visible. To manually remove these, use the erase tool. You can adjust the size and intensity of the eraser for better precision. To do this, simply click on the eraser icon in the toolbar and then click and drag over the areas you want to remove.
Step 5: Save the Image
Once you’re satisfied with the result, click on the ‘Download’ button at the top of the page. Make sure to select “PNG” to maintain the transparency of your background-less image.
That’s it! You have successfully manually removed the background from an image using Canva. This may take a bit of practice to perfect, but with patience and precision, you can achieve clean and professional-looking images for your design needs.
Don’t forget, Canva is an incredibly versatile design tool with a plethora of options and features. Experiment with them and enhance your designs even more. Happy designing!
