Google Docs is a widely used online word processing tool. One of its most useful features is the ability to wrap text around images. This can greatly enhance the presentation of your document by allowing text to flow seamlessly around your graphics. In this blog post, we will guide you through the steps of wrapping text in Google Docs.
Step 1: Insert your Image
To start off, you need to insert an image around which you want your text to wrap. Click on Insert, then Image, and choose the source of your image.
Step 2: Choose your Wrapping Option
Once you’ve inserted your image, select it by clicking on it. This will make the option “Image options” pop up. Click on it, and on the right side of the document, a sidebar will open.
There, under “Text Wrapping”, you can find three options: In line, Wrap Text, and Break Text.
In line
The In line option will align your image with the text. It’s like the image is part of the text and moves along with it.
Wrap Text
The Wrap Text option will allow the text to wrap around the image. That means the image will not cut off the text; instead, the text will flow around it.
Break Text
The Break Text option will make the image act like a paragraph break. The text will not wrap around the image; it will appear either above or below it.
Step 3: Adjust Margins
After choosing one of these options (for this example, let’s choose Wrap Text), you can adjust the margins around your image. In the same sidebar under the “Text Wrapping” section, you’ll see “Margin”. Here, you can adjust how much space you want between your image and your text.
And that’s it! You’ve now learned how to wrap text around an image in Google Docs. This feature can take your documents to a whole new level, making them more professional and visually appealing. So, don’t be afraid to experiment with it and see how it can enhance your work.
