Google Slides is a powerful tool for creating presentations, but it doesn’t always make it easy for us to implement complex mathematical notation, such as exponents. Here, we will explore a simple way to write exponents in Google Slides.
Step 1: Open your Google Slides Presentation
Start by opening the Google Slides presentation where you need to add the exponent. Navigate to the slide where you want to add the exponent.
Step 2: Click on the Text Box icon
Click on the Text Box icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen, then click on your slide to place the text box.
Step 3: Enter your base number
Type the base number for your exponent in the text box. For example, if you are writing the square of 2, type “2”.
Step 4: Insert the exponent
Next, you need to add the exponent. This process requires inserting a special character.
Click on Insert in the top menu, then choose Special characters.
In the search box in the “Insert special characters” dialog box, type “superscript” then select the number that corresponds to your exponent.
This will insert the superscript number (exponent) after your base number.
Step 5: Adjust if required
If you need to adjust the position of the exponent, you can do so by highlighting the exponent number and changing the font size or using the “Format” option in the top menu.
Final Tips
Remember that Google Slides doesn’t offer a native method for inserting exponents. This workaround will get the job done, but it won’t always be perfect. For more complex mathematical notation, you may want to consider using a specialized tool or software that is designed to handle math notation.
