Adobe After Effects is a powerful toolkit that enables you to produce high-quality videos. A common challenge for video editors is handling background noise in their recordings. Luckily, Adobe After Effects offers an incorporated function that allows you to eliminate background noise. Our blog post will guide you through the process of refining your audio tracks.
Preparing your project
To begin with, navigate to your project panel and double click in the area marked ‘Project’. Find the file you want to edit, and it will become visible in your composition window. Now, it’s time to remove the noise.
Steps to Remove Background Noise
Step 1: Open the audio track in Adobe After Effects
To open the audio track, select the clip and double click on it. The Waveform Editor will open up.
Step 2: Highlight the noisy area
In the waveform editor, drag the cursor to create a selection around the area where the noise is most prominent.
Step 3: Open the Denoiser Effect
Go to the Effects panel and choose Noise & Grain > Denoise. This opens the Denoiser tool.
Step 4: Adjust the Denoiser settings
When you first open Denoiser, it’s set to 0dB. This means that no noise reduction is being applied. To remove noise, you should increase this value.
Denoiser > Custom Setup > Noise Reduction > Increase value
Tip: Start with a low value and gradually increase it while constantly playing back the audio to see if the noise is reduced.
Step 5: Apply the Changes
Once you are happy with the changes, click on the Apply button for the changes to take effect.
