Are you looking to create an engaging, interactive, and easily sharable book? Why not consider using Google Slides? Google Slides, often underestimated as merely a presentation tool, is capable of much more. Using Google Slides, you can create a digital book that is not only visually appealing but also interactive and accessible from anywhere.
Getting Started
To make a book on Google Slides, first, you need to have a Google account. If you don’t have one, you can create one here.
Creating a New Google Slides Document
Once you have logged into your Google account, navigate to Google Drive and create a new Google Slides document. You can do this by clicking on the “+ New” button on the left side of the screen, then selecting “Google Slides” from the dropdown menu.
Setting Up Your Book Pages
Now that you’ve created your new Google Slides document, you can start setting up your book pages. Each slide in your presentation will represent a page in your book.
To change the layout of your slides to make them look more like a book, click on the “File” option in the upper left corner, hover over “Page setup“, and select “Custom“. Here you can change the dimensions of your slides. A standard book size could be 6 x 9 inches, but feel free to experiment with different sizes.
Adding Text and Images
With your slides set up, you can now start adding text and images to your book. To add text, simply click on the “Text box” button in the toolbar at the top of the screen, then click anywhere on your slide to start typing.
Adding images is just as easy. Click the “Image” button in the toolbar, and you’ll be given the option to upload an image from your computer, search the web, or insert an image from your Google Drive.
Linking Pages
One of the great things about creating a book in Google Slides is the ability to link pages. This can be useful if you want to create a contents page, or if you want to allow the reader to jump to different sections of the book.
To link pages, highlight the text or select the image you want to make clickable, then click on the “Insert link” button in the toolbar. In the box that appears, you can select the slide that you want to link to.
Sharing Your Book
Once you’re happy with your book, it’s time to share it. Click on the “Share” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Here you can invite people to view your book via email, or you can generate a link that you can share anywhere.
Wrapping Up
Creating a book in Google Slides is a fun and creative way to share information with others. With its easy-to-use interface and powerful features, you can create a professional-looking book in no time at all. So go ahead, give it a try and let your creativity soar!
